On the donation form, you can specify which fund you want to support through your donation.  You can select one fund or split a donation among the following:

Annual Fund - our drive to address a special project that will enable us to fufill our mission.  Prior efforts have enabled us to modernize our kitchen, refresh and upgrade the ballroom, restore the front columns and most recently, install a modern fire alarm system. A major effort in our planning stage is the upgrade/rebuild of our elevator.

General Operations - there are many smaller projects that enable us to support our day-to-day work. Some examples include buying new computers, replacing kitchen items like glassware or upgrading the telephones.

Enrichment Programs - Our Monday Enrichment Series runs from October through April each year, presenting about 30 programs in Art, Literature, Music, Science or Social Science.  These programs are presented by professionals in their respective fields who are paid to bring us events that we then offer to the public at no cost.

Founders' Memorial Scholarship - This fund grants 4-year scholarships to graduates of Oak Park River Forest High School who continue their education.  Currently, we select 4 new scholars each year, maintaining a group of 16 students who each receive $2500 per year. In addition to money, these students receive support and encouragement through regular contact with the Scholarship Committee and with each other.

Building Fund - The Nineteenth Century Club opened its doors in 1928, providing a place where educational programs are given and where other non-for-profit organzations hold meetings and special events, benefiting from reduced rental fees.  For a building that is almost 100 years old, there are always projects necessary to keep the building safe, clean and attractive for guests.

Steinway Fund - When Founders first opened the Club, they knew the importance of investing in the future.  They purchased not one, but two Steinway grand pianos, a smaller one for the more intimate first floor space and a full grand for the ballroom.  We need to keep our Steinways worthy of their name.  Both pianos were restored several years ago, giving many more years of use, but ongoing care is needed.
