Needle Arts Friends

The Needle Arts Friends help children and families in our communities by sewing kimonos, bonnets and blankets; knitting/crocheting hats, scarves, gloves, sweaters, booties and blankets. These hand-crafted items are distributed to facilities and clinics serving children.  The Nineteenth Century Charitable Association provides a work room, storage, yarn, fabric and other materials for these projects.

Items are distributed to these organizations:

  • Hephzibah Children's Home Association
  • Oak Park River Forest Day Nursery
  • Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society's Children's Clinic
  • Sarah's Inn
  • Parenthesis Parent Child Center
Participation in NAF is open to any interested persons at any skill level. You do not need to be a NCCA member to join. Check our calendar listing for our meeting dates and times (generally, the first and third Fridays at 10:00 a.m.)
