Nineteenth Century Programs
A Tradition of Excellence The Nineteenth Century Charitable Association has a long history of providing engaging and entertaining programming. Some of our notable presenters have included Amelia Earhart, Robert Frost, and Langston Hughes. Please view our COVID policies at the bottom of this page.
We offer the following programs:
Monday Enrichment Programs Our programs capture the cultural diversity and love of learning that’s so evident in Oak Park and its surrounding communities. Topics addressed range from art and music to science, social sciences and literature. We pride ourselves in truly offering something for everyone and particularly strive to emphasize the history and culture of Chicago.
Wednesday Wisdom In August 2020, the Nineteenth Century created a program series called Wednesday Wisdom; what started out as members sharing their passions via Zoom during the height of the Pandemic has morphed into a periodic program housed in our building. Recent programs have included panel discussions on Rightsizing, Being Dementia Friendly, and the LGBTQ+ Community. The programs are Free and Open to the Public!
Henry Fogel Presents This program is a collaboration between the NCCA and Henry Fogel, whose background as former President and CEO of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and host of WFMT's Collector's Corner makes him a classical music legend. Henry Fogel Presents brings diverse musical talent to our stage four times a year. Mr. Fogel hosts the evening and interviews the musicians between sets.
COVID19 Policies (Effective 3/1/22)
