A Tradition of Excellence
The Nineteenth Century Charitable Association has a long history of providing engaging and entertaining programming. Some of our notable presenters have included Amelia Earhart, Robert Frost, and Langston Hughes. Our featured program series is Monday Enrichment.  Other programs include Wednesday Wisdom, Tai Chi, Book Club, Summer Series, and much more.  Programs are frequently free and all are open to the public. 

Monday Enrichment Programs
Our programs capture the cultural diversity and love of learning that’s so evident in Oak Park and its surrounding communities. Topics addressed range from art and music to science, social sciences and literature. Wednesday Wisdom 

In August 2020, the Nineteenth Century created a program series called Wednesday Wisdom; what started out as members sharing their passions via Zoom during the height of the Pandemic has morphed into a periodic program housed in our building. Recent programs have included panel discussions on Rightsizing, Being Dementia Friendly, and the LGBTQ+ Community.
