What is Monday Lunch?

Monday Lunch is a tradition at the Nineteenth Century Club that dates back to our founding in 1891.  It has always been an opportunity for friends and members to gather for a meal and enjoy enriching their minds through a program in music, social science, art, literature, or science.  The Monday Lunch tradition continues today and remains an opportunity for social networking and camaraderie among friends.  Here are some quick facts:

  • Monday Lunch is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
  • Lunch precedes each Monday Program and doors open at 11:30 am
  • Lunch is $25 for members and $30 for non-members
  • Lunch includes a three-course meal made from scratch in our commercial kitchen by our Executive Chef, John "Woody" Linton.  It is plated and served individually. Most dietary concerns can be accommodated as noted on the rsvp form.
  • RSVP is due by the Thursday at 12pm before each Monday Lunch and can be done online (links are available on our Event Calendar), by email ([email protected]), or over the phone (708-386-2729).
  • If you are a Nineteenth Century member, you can be placed on our permanent list, which will allow you to be RSVP’d for every lunch and pay when you arrive. If you do not show up to two lunches while on the permanent list you will be required to pay. You can sign up for the permanent lunch list here: 2022-2023  Permanent List Lunch
