An American senator with presidential aspirations and his friend, an expatriot poet, visit Mont St. Michel, the medieval island fortress in France. While there, they meet a physicist-turned-philosopher, who has been doing a lot of thinking about a new way of looking at the planet's most serious problems. As they walk about the island, they also exercise their minds in a conversation that challenges their preconceptions and convictions about they world the seek to understand and alter.

The Free Readers Ensemble (FRE) is an actor-based ensemble whose mission is to present diverse theatrical and literary material in a reader’s theater format to Oak Park/River Forest and the surrounding communities. Through voice and dramatic interpretation, FRE brings a world of literature to life while achieving a high standard of consistently entertaining and thought- provoking performances.
