This afternoon o f powerful music will offer comfort and wisdom during the dramatic events o f 2020. The recital will feature music perfor med by Christine Steyer (soprano), Brian Hoffman (cello), and Marta Johnson (piano), and set to the poems of Toni Morrison, Emily Dickinson, Maureen K wiat Meshenberg and Chicago youth set by Previn, Sydeman and Steyer. It will also feature “Red is a Trick”, an aria recently featured on WFMT with text by a dozen Chicago students in response to gun violence. Th ese songs, featuring Christine Steyer, soprano, Brian Hoffman, cello, and M arta Johnson, piano, are sure to inspire the listener.
