The Oriental Institute (OI) Museum at The University of Chicago is a world-renowned showcase for the history, art, and archaeology of the ancient Middle East - but what goes on behind the scenes to keep this priceless ancient collection available for future generations to enjoy? Explore the art and science of artifact conservation with OI conservator Alison Whyte. Through fascinating stories of the early days of the Institute, learn about the history of art conservation and how the discipline has evolved over time.
These programs are free for members. A $15 donation is requested for non-members. If you would like to become a member, click HERE. Our 3 course Lunch is served at noon before the program. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. The menu changes weekly, and is prepared by our Executive Chef Woody.
