Author Carl Smith will provide an overview of the Great Chicago Fire of October 8-10, 1871 and the city’s recovery from the fire, based on his book, Chicago’s Great Fire: The Destruction and Resurrection of an Iconic American City. Smith will also offer a more specific discussion of the multiple ways women, including through charitable associations, played a major role in the fire and the recovery.

These programs are free for members. A $15 donation is requested for non-members. If you would like to become a member, click HERE.

Our 3 course Lunch is served at noon before the program. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. The menu changes weekly, and is prepared by our Executive Chef Woody.
