This afternoon of powerful music will offer comfort and wisdom during the dramatic events of 2020. The recital will feature music performed by Christine Steyer (soprano), Brian Hoffman (cello), and Marta Johnson (piano), and set to the poems of Toni Morrison, Emily Dickinson, Maureen Kwiat Meshenberg and Chicago youth set by Previn, Sydeman and Steyer. It will also feature “Red is a Trick”, an aria recently featured on WFMT with text by a dozen Chicago students in response to gun violence. These songs, featuring Christine Steyer, soprano, Brian Hoffman, cello, and Marta Johnson, piano, are sure to inspire the listener.
