THE FREE READERS ENSEMBLE Presents: Wit by Margaret Edson Director: Larry Baldacci Sunday, February 16, from 3 - 5pm Wit is a one-act play written by American playwright Margaret Edson, which won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Edson used her work experience in a hospital as part of the inspiration for her play. In her play, Edson examines the internal life of an English professor suffering a terminal illness. As the professor nears the end of her life, she starts to ask hard questions about what she did wrong and also what comes next. This local actor-based ensemble is in its 26th year showcasing the magic of words; from playwrights and poets to authors and screenwriters. The group brings thought-provoking, entertaining and sometimes controversial works to life. Programs are offered at no charge. Free-will donations are appreciated and help cover costs.
