The Columbian Exhibition

Award-winning musicians--- violinist Kate Carter, pianist Chris White and baritone Brad Jungwirth offer a front row seat to the sights and sounds of the Columbian Exhibition. Visitors to the 1893 World’s Fair commemorated their trips with an unlikely souvenir – sheet music. The exceptional musical program includes original album cover artwork and commentary on the history of the music. All three performers are on the music faculty at Lake Forest College.

Brad Jungwirth has been described by critics as "a muscular baritone with an evocatively dark instrument" and has been parised for his "dulcet and lyrical" voice and "no-holds-barred intensity."  Chris Whiteattended Indiana University's prestigious Jacobs School of Music and pursued his Master's degree in Jazz Studies, graduating with a Phi Kappa Lambda award.  Kate Carter is an avid recitalist and chamber musician who has appeared nationally on series including Dame Myra Hess, Chicago Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall's Weill Hall.

Programs are open to the public; $15 requested donation. No reservation needed.

Lunch is offered at noon prior to the program. To make a reservation for lunch, click here.
